Biography: While working on my music degree at the University of Northern Colorado, I performed
for 4 years with the Wind Ensemble, 7 years in Jazz bands and combos, played musicals and marched with the Pride of the Rockies
Marching Band. I played for three years with UNC's Jazz Lab Band I, during which time the band won a Downbeat Magazine's
award for best college big band and played for the IAJE International jazz educators convention in Long Beach, CA. I
have performed with Maria Schneider, Kenny Wheeler, Deborah Brown, Bob Brookmeyer and Benny Golson. I have also performed
outside of school with Colorado jazz greats Peter Sommer, Brad Goode, Dana Landry, Eric Applegate and Ron Miles. I currently
reside near Greeley with my incredibly supportive wife and two amazing children.
Education/Experience: I earned my B.A. degree in usic from the University of Northern
Colorado the summer of 2005. I have been playing professionally for three years, and have been teaching for more
than 10 years. I will be starting a Masters Degree in Jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado in
the
fall of 2005.
Comments: I'm passionate about making music and about teaching music, especially when I
see students experience what I love. My desire is to continually better myself, make great music, and pass on
the legacy.
