Biography: Alyssa McIntyre received her bachelor's degree in flute performance with a concentration
in chamber music from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. There she studied flute with Dr. Nancy Schneeloch.
While pursuing her bachelor's degree she won the AJ Fletcher competition and played in many masterclasses with flutist such
as Alexa Still, Ransom Wilson, Ava Legene, and Leslie Marrs. Alyssa has also performed with groups including the Western
Piedmont Orchestra, ASU symphony orchestra, ASU wind ensemble, Blowing Rock Stage Company, collegium musicum, flute and guitar
duo, and the CU early music ensemble. Alyssa is currently a pursuing a master's degree in music education with a minor
in flute performance. She is studying flute with Alexa Still at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Alyssa
is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and recently presented research at the 2005 CMEA on music teacher's perception of auditory
disabilities.
